Third Annual Knicks Legends Night Set For Feb. 23

NEW YORK, December 13, 2010 - The New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh announced today that the team will celebrate the Third Annual Knicks Legends Night on Feb. 23 when the team takes on the Eastern Conference-rival Milwaukee Bucks. For the first time, Knicks fans will assist in picking the honorees.

A halftime ceremony on Feb. 23 will honor a Legend from each decade. In 2009, the original class of Legends were selected and included the following players: Carl Braun (1940's), Richie Guerin (1950's), Willis Reed (1960's), Walt Frazier (1970's) Bernard King (1980's) and Patrick Ewing (1990's). The inaugural member of the class of 2000's will be unveiled and the franchise will also present the third annual Dick McGuire Knickerbocker Legacy Award to the individual who exudes the qualities of what it means to be a Knickerbocker: Pride, Tradition & Class. Previous winners were Dick McGuire (2009) and Cal Ramsey (2010).

A distinguished committee will vote for this year's Legends, and for the first time, Knicks fans, beginning today, can vote for which Knick they feel had the greatest impact on the court in each decade since 1950. The fan vote will collectively represent one vote in the selection process, determining the recipients of the second installment of the "Knicks Legends Award". Fan voting is open through Thursday, December 23rd at 12:00pm.

Fans will choose from five players from each decade. The ballot is as follows:

1950's

1960's

1970's

1980's

1990's

2000's
